Today is the first day of April and it’s also the first day of National Poetry Month! I am going to write a poem every day in my journal this month and I’ll choose a poem from the previous week’s writing and share it on the following Sunday. I probably will not be sharing a poem this Sunday unless I really like the poem that I write today or tomorrow! LOL Let me know in the comments section if you decide to join me in writing a poem each day during the month of April. If you are going to post your poetry on a blog, feel free to share your blog link in the comment section so that I can follow! If you want more encouragement visit National Poetry Writing Month and join in there!
To celebrate National Poetry Month, I decided to share a poem I wrote a number of years back ago. It is also in my recently published book, Peaceful Moments.
Poetry
Poetry is in the wind,
in the grass,
and in the gentle breeze.
It’s in the flowers,
in the stars,
and in the bending trees.
Poetry is in a shout,
in a laugh,
and in a quiet whisper.
It’s in my pain,
in my fears,
and in the love of a brother and a sister.
Poetry is in my heart,
in my mind,
and deep within my soul.
It’s a special gift,
sent by God
to heal and make me whole.
